Snapshot
When you open the account, the home page opens first. In the new look the page's heading is Snapshot, and it brings together the things that need attention right now: unfinished shipments, missing information, the deadlines of reports to the authorities and upcoming production steps. The Snapshot is a good starting point for daily routines. You can get to it at any time from home in the main menu or by clicking the account's name at the top of the menu.
The Snapshot is shown to owners and basic users. It is not shown to sales users, and their main menu has no home item. Each section is shown only when it has something to show.
Shipments
At the top there are three tiles of unfinished shipments by status:
- in progress – the shipment is still a draft
- awaiting picking – the shipment is waiting to be picked from the warehouse
- awaiting delivery – the shipment has been picked and is waiting to be marked as delivered.
Each tile shows the number of shipments and their total value. Clicking a tile takes you to the shipment list filtered to that status. If the account has no unfinished shipments, the tiles are not shown.
Things that need attention
Yellow notices tell you about shortcomings that need fixing. Each has a button that takes you straight to the place to fix:
- tax account events with missing details – Review and fix the events takes you to the list of incorrect tax events
- products awaiting excise group review – Check the products' tax groups takes you to the product list with the products to review filtered
- the financial management software blocks reading invoice payment details – shown if the Netvisor, ProCountor or Fennoa you use does not let BrewOS read the payment details of invoices (for example an interface right is missing or the saved credentials are no longer accepted). The notice tells you which right or credential needs fixing, and the button takes you to the system's help page or settings. See Payments.
Fix the tax events and tax groups before the next report. See also Excise duty.
Report deadlines
The Report deadlines box lists the reports to the authorities that are expected from the account:
- Valvira's Delivery report and Packaging report
- the Finnish Tax Administration (Vero)'s Excise duty return, Beverage packaging tax and Soft drink tax.
Of the Vero returns, only those that concern the account's products are shown. For example, soft drink tax is not shown if the account has no soft drinks.
For each report it shows the next period falling due and the periods whose deadline has passed within the last 7 days. The rows are in order of deadline, and each tells the period, the authority and the deadline. Click the report's name to open the report directly for the right period.
The status is shown at the right end of the row:
- Sent – the report has been sent through BrewOS.
- Sending failed – sending through BrewOS failed. Check the report.
- Deadline passed – the deadline has passed, and the report has not been sent through BrewOS.
- x d – days until the deadline. The badge turns yellow when there are 5 days or fewer until the deadline.
- Done – you have marked the period as done yourself.
BrewOS only knows about reports that have been sent through BrewOS. If you file a report directly in the authority's service, it does not show here.
Marking a period as done
If you have filed a Vero return some other way, you can remove the reminder:
- Press the row's Done button.
- The row is dimmed and its status becomes Done.
The marking is only a reminder for yourself, not proof that a report was filed. You can undo the marking by pressing Undo marking. The Done button is available for Vero returns, but not for Valvira reports.
Hiding beverage packaging tax reminders
If your company is not liable for beverage packaging tax (for example as a member of Palpa or as a registered small producer), the row of an overdue beverage packaging tax period shows the button Not applicable to company. By pressing it and confirming the choice, you hide the beverage packaging tax reminders for the whole account and for all future periods too.
You can get the reminders back on the Settings > Authorities page.
Upcoming production steps
The Upcoming production steps box shows the next three scheduled production steps of planned and confirmed production batches: the step's name, the batch number, the recipe, and the start date and time. Click a step to open the production batch.
The box only shows steps whose planned start time is still ahead and that have not been started.
Other things on the home page
In addition to the Snapshot, the home page shows when needed:
- Open taps and Unreported taps – see Taps
- BrewOS updates – announcements of the service's new features. In the new look the announcements are listed at the side of the page: the newest is open, and the others open when you click their heading. Announcements published since your previous visit are marked New!.
In the old look (see Getting started) the home page has the same information, but the order is slightly different: the production steps come before the deadlines, and the update announcements are shown as cards above the taps.
All acknowledgements and markings on the home page are recorded in the event log.
