Event log
BrewOS records the most important changes in the event log when users create, edit or delete information. From the event log you can find out afterwards who made a change and when.
The account's event log
Open the account's event log from event log in the main menu. The page is available to owners and basic users. Sales users cannot open the event log.
Each row shows:
- the actor, i.e. the name given to the user on this account (their email address if no name has been given)
- the description of the event, for example "Bought a new licence for the account"
- the time when the change was made
- references to the data the change concerned, in the form data type:identifier (for example
Shipment:1234). The references are the system's internal identifiers.
The page shows the account's 500 most recent events, newest first. The page has no search, filtering or paging. If you are looking for an older event, look on its target's own page (see below).
The event descriptions are shown in the language you have chosen in the language menu of the top bar (see My credentials), older events included. If the description of some old event could not be translated, it is shown in Finnish as it was originally recorded.
Event history on the data's own pages
Many pages have their own Event log section at the bottom that shows the 50 most recent events concerning that item. Such pages include, for example, the pages of a product, recipe, ingredient, production batch, tap, customer, shipment, invoice, payment, warehouse, and removals and exports from stock.
Your own event log
You can see your own events from all accounts on the My credentials page (see My credentials). The page shows your 50 most recent events, including sign-ins and changes to your own credentials.
"Admin" or "Deleted user" as the actor
The actor shown is the user's account-specific name. There are two exceptions:
- Admin: the change was made by BrewOS administration, who is not a user of the account.
- Deleted user: the user who made the event has since been removed from the account.
In your own event log, the actor shown is your name on that account for the account's events and your email address for events outside accounts (for example sign-ins).
Changes made through the AI interface
When an external application changes data through the AI interface (MCP), the same description as for the corresponding change on the BrewOS pages is recorded in the event log, followed by the note (MCP), for example Linked EAN code … to product … (MCP). The actor shown is the user who granted the application access. The entry is also shown in the changed item's own event log. If the change was made by BrewOS administration through the interface, the note is (MCP, admin).
Only successful calls that change data are recorded in the log. Calls that only read data, failed calls and calls that changed nothing are not recorded.
In older events, changes made through the interface are shown in the form MCP tool: tool name, for example MCP tool: create_customer.
Retention period
Events are kept for one year, after which they are deleted automatically. Events older than a year therefore cannot be seen in the event log or on the data's own pages.
If you need event data for longer, you can download it with data export.
