Suomi.fi authorisation for VeroAPI
BrewOS can send excise duty returns (alcohol duty, beverage packaging tax and soft drink tax) to the Finnish Tax Administration (Vero) over the VeroAPI connection once your company has given BrewOS a Suomi.fi authorisation. The authorisation is given once in Suomi.fi e-Authorizations, and BrewOS checks it when sending to VeroAPI.
Giving the authorisation requires a person who has the right to give Suomi.fi authorisations on behalf of the company. If you cannot see your company in Suomi.fi e-Authorizations or giving the authorisation does not succeed, first check your company's signing or authorisation rights in the Suomi.fi service.
Before you start
Check that the company's Business ID has been saved in BrewOS under Settings > Company details.
Then save the VeroAPI contact person:
- In BrewOS, go to the page Settings > Authorities, section Tax Administration VeroAPI. Before the contact person has been saved, the section says Suomi.fi authorisation: not given.
- Press Give authorisation. A form for the contact person's details appears.
- Check the contact person's name and phone number. The fields are prefilled with the company's name and sales phone number, if they have been saved.
- Press Save and continue.
The contact person's details are attached to the VeroAPI returns. After saving, the page shows the buttons Open Suomi.fi e-Authorizations and Check authorisation. You can change the contact person later with the link edit.
Giving the authorisation in Suomi.fi
The Suomi.fi menu and option names below are given as they appear in the Finnish-language service.
- Open Suomi.fi e-Authorizations with the Open Suomi.fi e-Authorizations button on the BrewOS Settings > Authorities page, or go to suomi.fi/valtuudet.
- Sign in to the Suomi.fi service with strong electronic identification.
- Choose the company on whose behalf you give the authorisation.
- Go to Valtuudet > Annetut valtuudet (authorisations given).
- Press Anna tai pyydä valtuuksia (give or request authorisations).
- Choose Asiointivaltuus (authorisation to act on behalf) as the authorisation type.
- Add 2307798-3 Cap de Moine, sivutoiminimi BrewOS as the authorised party. You can search for the authorised party by the Business ID 2307798-3.
- Choose Valmisteveroasioiden hoito (handling excise tax matters) as the authorisation matter.
- Choose the validity period of the authorisation. You can give the authorisation, for example, until further notice or for a fixed period according to your company's practice.
- Check the summary and confirm the authorisation.
The authorisation matter Valmisteveroasioiden hoito entitles the authorised party to handle matters related to excise taxation on behalf of the authorising party. BrewOS uses the authorisation for sending VeroAPI returns and for technically checking the authorisation.
Check the authorisation in BrewOS
Once the authorisation has been given in Suomi.fi, return to BrewOS on the page Settings > Authorities and press Check authorisation. The button is available only once the company's Business ID has been saved. Until then the text below it says Set the company's Business ID so the authorisation can be checked.
If the check succeeds, BrewOS shows Authorisation valid, and the status stays visible next to the button. If no valid authorisation is found, No valid authorisation is shown.
When the authorisation is valid, you can send returns on the pages Reports > Excise duty, Beverage packaging tax and Soft drink tax with the Submit electronic return button. See Excise duty returns.
If the check does not succeed, check especially these points:
- the company's Business ID has been saved in the BrewOS company details
- the authorisation type is Asiointivaltuus
- the authorised party is 2307798-3 Cap de Moine, sivutoiminimi BrewOS
- the authorisation matter is Valmisteveroasioiden hoito
- the authorisation is valid and its start date is not in the future
If necessary, you can return to Suomi.fi e-Authorizations and check the authorisation under Valtuudet > Annetut valtuudet.
